Make sure to include your name and your PMB (personal mail box) number with the address to receive your mail promptly.
If you live in on-campus housing, you have been assigned a mailbox in The Hub mailroom. Make sure to stop by and open your mailbox at the customer service desk. Here you will be given your mailbox number, and combination or key. This is the same location to pick up any packages that have been sent to you.
Please make sure to close out your mailboxes before you graduate, attend a semester abroad, or leave Mason for more than a semester. At the customer service desk in The Hub, you will be able to close your box, return your key (not necessary if you have a combination), and have your mail forwarded for 90 days domestically. This will prevent a hold on your account and help you leave Mason successfully.
Students will receive keys for mailboxes when they register for a personal mailbox in The Hub mailroom. Cost for a replacement key is $10.00 cash or Mason Money. If a key no longer works, please come to the customer service window in The Hub to receive a free replacement.
Packages sent to any student with a mailbox will be available for pickup in The Hub mailroom. When packages are received, an email will be sent to your George Mason University email. Make sure to follow the instructions in the email to reduce pickup time. A notification slip will also be placed in your mailbox when you receive a package. Please bring both your notification and Mason I.D. to the customer service window. If an email notification is received and you do not have a notification slip, you may still pick up a package with proper identification.
Expecting a Package
If you are expecting a package and have not received an email, or package slip, it is likely that we have not received the package or it has not been processed yet. If you have confirmation that a package is in the mailroom, please bring the tracking information so that it can be located easily. If the package does not have tracking information (i.e. a first class package), please stop by the customer service window after 4 p.m. and we will check our package system for you.
United States Postal Service
First class, priority, and express mail can be sent in Patriot Postal and Packaging (Johnson Center 117A 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.). Patriot Postal and Packaging carries stamps as well as necessary shipping supplies such as boxes, bubble wrap, and envelopes. This location only accepts cash and Mason Money.
UPS packages can be processed in The Hub mailroom. Only cash and Mason Money are accepted. We do not sell boxes in The Hub mailroom for UPS ground shipping, so please have packing materials prepared before arriving. We do carry UPS express boxes, express envelopes, and express pad packs. UPS packages cannot be processed after 3:00 p.m.
Completed UPS packages can be dropped off at both the The Hub mailroom and Patriot Postal and Packaging. UPS packages must be at The Hub mailroom or Patriot Postal and Packaging by 3:00 p.m. for same day pickup.
Completed FedEx packages can be dropped off at both The Hub mailroom and Patriot Postal and Packaging by 3:00 p.m. for same day pickup. FedEx express envelopes can also be dropped off in the Johnson Center in a Fedex pickup box by the main entrance by 6:00 p.m. for same day pickup.
